Dow Futures Are Doing Nothing Because There's Nothing to Do

6:32 a.m. What should the Dow Jones Industrial Average do when there’s almost no new information to drive it higher or lower? Almost nothing.

Dow futures have risen 13 points, or 0.1%, while S&P 500 futures have advanced 0.1%, and Nasdaq Composite futures have gained 0.1%.

Last week, of course, was filled with information for the market to digest. The Federal Reserve was more dovish than expected ; earnings from the likes of Facebook (FB) and Boeing (BA) better than expected despite concerns of a profit slowdown ; and economic data, including January’s jobs report, was stronger than expected.

This week has its earnings to watch-including from Alphabet (GOOGL) after the close today -and its data too. We’ll be looking for signs of progress in trade between the U.S. and China after the completion of last week’s talks. There’s just none of it this morning.

And so we wait.
