European ADRs Move Higher in Wednesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 2.7% higher at 123.55 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ), which climbed 10.8%. It was followed by Deutsche Bank ( DB ), which rose 6.6%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical firm Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ) and medical equipment company Edap ( EDAP ), which fell 5.1% and 4.3%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech company Midatech Pharma ( MTP ), and communications group WPP (WPP), which rose 11.4% and 6.7% respectively. They were followed by Barclays Bank (BCS), and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which gained 6.6% and 5.8%.

Among the decliners in the UK and Ireland, Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) fell 7.7%, while Motif Bio (MTFB) dropped 4.3%.
