Health Care Sector Update for 12/13/2018: VBIV, AGTC, AMPE, JNJ, PFE, MRK, ABT, AMGN
Top Health Care Stocks:
Health care stocks were little changed, with the NYSE Health Care Index and shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 both near their starting points for the session. Meanwhile, biotechnology stocks weren’t as fortunate. The Nasdaq Biotechnology index was down 1.5%.
Stocks moving on news include:
(-) VBI Vaccines ( VBIV ) was retreating by more than 11% after it priced its previously announced underwritten public offering of 26.8 million common shares, at $1.40 a share, 15.7% lower than the share closing price on Wednesday.
In other sector news:
(-) Applied Genetic Technologies ( AGTC ) was sinking 46% after it reported topline interim six-month data from its phase 1/2 clinical trial of rAAV2tYF-CB-hRS1, an investigational AAV-based gene therapy delivered via intravitreal injection for X-linked retinoschisis, or XLRS, due to mutations in the RS1 gene.
(-) Ampio Pharmaceuticals ( AMPE ) fell 6.4% after saying the US Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Tissue and Advanced Therapies has called on Ampio to complete an additional trial of KL4 osteoarthritis patients treated with Ampion.
