The NASDAQ 100 index closed up .34% for the day; a total of 22.7 points. The current value is 6,701.04. Shire plc ( SHPG ) had the largest percent change down (-3.17%) while Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated ( VRTX ) had the largest percent change gain rising 4.81%.
The Dow Jones index closed up .44% for the day; a total of 108.49 points. The current value is 24,748.73. United Technologies Corporation ( UTX ) had the largest percent change down (-4.14%) while Verizon Communications Inc. ( VZ ) had the largest percent change gain rising 2.5%.
